Jamie Marich, Ph.D, LPCC-S, LICDC. Having started her career in human services as an aid worker in post-war Bosnia, Dr. Jamie Marich has since worked in mental health residential treatment, and in chemical dependency treatment as an inpatient, outpatient, and dual diagnosis counselor. Dr. Marich operates a private practice and community outreach organization, Mindful Ohio, specializing in addiction treatment (chemical & behavioral), issues related to abuse and trauma, peak performance enhancement, dissociative disorders, spiritual issues (including recovery from spiritual abuse), cross-cultural issues, consultation/mentoring, grief/loss, and group therapy. Much of the enthusiasm that Jamie brings to the counseling setting has sprung forth from her own recovery and experiences with the healing process. Jamie has also been praised by clients and colleagues for her ability to use the creative arts, including her first love, music, into the counseling and healing process. Dr. Marich is the creator of the Dancing Mindfulness practice, a community-led wellness practice based in trauma-sensitive approaches to holistic recovery. Dr. Marich trains facilitators in the practice.

Jamie is a contributing faculty member for Upper Iowa University, and she offers original workshops and retreats for counselors and social workers internationally. Jamie is a national expert on the use of eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) in addiction treatment. Jamie is a Certified EMDR Therapist and Approved Consultant through the EMDR International Association, and in 2008, Jamie was the 1st place outstanding poster research winner at the international conference. Jamie has several peer-reviewed publications to her credit on her work with EMDR and addiction. Her first major book, EMDR Made Simple: 4 Approaches For Using EMDR With Every Client released in 2011 (PPM), and her second title, Trauma and the Twelve Steps: A Complete Guide for Enhancing Recovery released in 2012. Her newest book, Trauma Made Simple: Competencies in Assessment, Treatment, and Working with Survivors came out in 2014.
